Unirac's configurators quote only the top mount hook because it can be used with any attachment. This is the only tile hook that can be used with SolarMount-I.

Allowable Downforce:  236 lbs.

Allowable Uplift:  -191 lbs.

If you are installing either SolarMount or SunFrame you may use the front mount hook for rails running east/west or the side mount for rails running north/south. They have higher allowable loads than the top mount, and do not need an L-foot.

Note that the point loads calculated for this example are greater than the allowable loads for top and side mount hooks (above), but lower than the allowable loads for front mount. If you plan to run your rails east/west you may use front mount tile hooks per this calculation. If the point loads exceed the allowable loads, go back to the configurator and reduce the revised rail span (the distance you choose between attachments to the roof). Once the rail span is reduced to 4' for this example the point loads are low enough to use any of the tile hooks:

If you are not using top mount hooks on the Bill of Materials replace them with either side or front mount hooks (item #s on chart at top) and zero out the L-foot quantity.
